Course dates
Q: When does the course start?
The first live session is planned for mid September with times and days to be confirmed.
Q: If the course has already started, can I join and catch up?
Yes, people are welcome to join as a late registration. The course will be open until the end of the year which should allow plenty of time to complete by watching recorded sessions.
Q: When will the course close? I can't attend complete within 7 weeks.
We understand that life gets busy, we will keep the course open until the end of the year which should allow people plenty of time to complete by watching recorded sessions.
Registrations and Enrolment
Q: Will registrations be capped?
No. Everyone is welcome to register. All sessions are recorded and available to watch later in ADC Online Learning.
Q: I registered but haven’t received any emails?
We begin sending regular emails closer to the course start date. Once the course is underway, we usually send 1–2 emails per week with reminders, links, and resources.
If you’re not receiving emails, please check your spam folder and mark us as a safe sender.
Q: What’s the difference between registering and enrolling?
Registering adds you to our email list for course updates.
Enrolling means creating an account and accessing the course in ADC Online Learning (powered by LearnWorlds). You’ll receive instructions by email when you register for the course using the form.
You must be enrolled in our online learning platform to access and complete the learning activities and receive a certificate.
Course Content
Webinars (Weeks 1–7):
There are seven webinars covering all aspects of diabetes management with a focus on type 2 diabetes.
Week 1: Lifestyle management & metformin + vildagliptin
Week 2: Sulfonylureas, insulin + management of hypoglycaemia
Week 3: New diabetes medication, technology + management algorithm
Week 4: Glycaemic, blood pressure and lipid targets and management
Week 5: Diabetes and sick day management, driving and pregnancy
Week 6: Management of complications related to diabetes
Week 7: Inpatient management of diabetes
Case studies + Live Q&A
Every webinar will include case studies, break out rooms to discuss with colleagyes & Live Q&A with Dr Ryan Paul, Endocrinologist.
The sessions will be facilitated by members of the Pacific division of Health from The University of Auckland.
Recordings & Resources, every week a recording of the live session is made available for you to watch in your own time. This usually takes 1-2 days to be processed and uploaded and we will send out an email to let you know when it is live.
Weekly MCQs:
Each of the 7 weeks, you’ll be asked to complete a short feed back form to let us know how you watched and rated the session, then two multiple choice questions based on the week’s content. 100% pass for all 7 weeks is required for course completion and to download a certificate.
If you choose an incorrect answer, the platform provides feedback to support your learning. There are unlimited attempts, but you do need to achieve 100% to pass.
We will ensure the content is covered in each session for that week’s MCQ.
Certificate of completion (optional)
When you have completed all of the MCQs you can download your certificate of completion.

We’ll begin sending more regular updates closer to the course start date. Once underway, we usually send 1-2 emails per week with reminders, resources, and FAQs. If you’re not seeing our emails, check your spam folder and mark us as a safe sender.

Live Sessions & Recordings
Q: I can't get logged in, where can I find the meeting link?
We will send out links to the current meeting in our weekly email and they are also on the programme.
You will however need to click the session link in ADC Online Learning at a later date for the activity to register as being completed if you join the session live from outside of the platform.
Q: When will webinar and mentoring session recordings be available?
We aim to upload recordings within two days of the live session. These will be accessible in the course player on Learnworlds for the duration of the course. We will make them available long term on YouTube.
Weekly quiz
Q: What does the weekly quiz include?
The quiz has been split into two parts. A feedback form which has two questions, How did you watch (Live/Recording) and how you rated the session. You will then complete a multiple choice quiz (MCQ) that has two questions that are relevant to the content from that week's session.
Q: What if I don’t pass the multiple choice questions?
No worries, you can try again! Each incorrect response includes an explanation to guide your learning. There are unlimited attempts! You can repeat each quiz as many times as needed.
CME & Certificates
Q: When do I receive the certificate?
After completing all of the required learning activities (watching all of the sessions and completing all of the weekly quizes with 100% pass rate) then you will be able to download a certificate.
Q: Can I still claim education hours if I don't complete the course?
Yes! You can record any sessions you attended or watched as part of your personal professional development record, even if you don’t receive a formal certificate.

Where can I find the resources?
All course materials will be added to our HCP Resources page or made available through ADC Online Learning including links to recommended websites & resources.
You can also subscribe to receive email alerts when new ADC tools and resources become available at the bottom of the website.
Withdrawing
Q: How do I withdraw from the course?
If you’ve only registered interest (not created an account through ADC Online Learning), then simply unsubscribe from our emails.
If you’ve already enrolled on our Online Learning Platform, please email us at education@aotearoadiabetescollective.org.nz and we will un-enrol you from ADC Online Learning (Learnworlds).
